Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Ah well I guess this would explain me checking my speed the other night and shockingly finding my usual 3.5MB dropping off to around 1MB download, and then looking again after midnight and it shooting up to 3.5MB.
I only really use the internet at home to play World Of Warcraft, which is not hammering my connection, so I shouldnt be part of the 2% being affected (as in thier T&C's).
Im getting disconnected regularly from World Of Warcraft and if this keeps up will have to quit, thus making my interent connection redundant which would be flushing £17 a month down the drain.
I know what will be happening in 10 months if this keeps up. BB Sky HD, Sky Talk and Sky Connect - hello FreeSat and other ISP.
However have logged this issue with Sky so gonna give them a few months to sort my issue out before I make my mind up on them, this forum doesnt give me much confidence though.
Will keep you all up to date.
IF ANYONE FROM SKY READS THESE FORUMS - PLEASE HELP US - IF YOU LOOSE AN UNHAPPY CUSTOMER YOU WILL NEVER GET THEM BACK - AND FROM READING THIS FORUM YOU HAVE ALOT OF UNHAPPY CUSTOMERS

Hi it affects everything between 5pm and 12midnight Sky connect is traffic managed and some are being throttled and if you are using more than 40gbs a month you will start and be traffic managed and throttled through the day.
SkyWoW
HI Sky connect package is not at the present time any good for on gamers. Many have logged complaints and after no solution have left to join other ISP`s
As Gazz pointed out look at the link and it will give you lots more information on the connect package also Bt performance tester is a way of being able to show proof of your speeds hope all goes well for you both.

Your point is taken. However, I was well under 3mb per month download and was still throttled to death (after 5pm). Your total amount of download means nothing, zilch, zippo!
Connect is being heavily throttled/monitored whatever you want to call it after around 5pm 'ish whatever your download amount may be.
CONNECT IS BEING HEAVILY THROTTLED etc after 5pm whoever you are apart from 'I am not the enemy' it seems, who is receiving his/her Sky internet service for FREE!

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Skywow don't hold your breath this issue has been going on for 6 months or so and Sky have done nothing what so ever to fix it. Doing BT tests might make you feel better but Sky are not fixing this throttling issue. Looks like its here to stay.
Some die hards want to fight the good fight but I advise you to change ISP's instead of spending your money on a throttled service.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
and even if I was paying for it - it still suits me fine...
if I needed to have a constant speed I'd move, no question about it...but seeing as I schedule my usage outside of peak times i'm never affected (much)...
chances are it's low congestion at my exchange that means I'm not hit as much - I dunno...but I wouldn't move, not even if I leave Sky and start paying for it...-------------------------------------------
