Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
I would expect there to be a significant problem now as the schools are on holiday and as the Easter weekend looks like to be a washout I would expect some hammering on the internet from now until the schools go back.
I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Thats the current loadings on the Entenet Systems, which use BTs Stuff, so id say BTs are very similar
Left being 21cn right being 20cn
Steve, it might not be your exchange, it may infact be the central that your going threw possibly one above?

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Afternoon all,
Just popping by to see how things are in the land of SkyConnect
andyconnect1
I'm on Rochford exchange as well, but I am now on Be (O2) LLU Unlimited package. No more getting p1$$ed off between 1700-0000 anymore for me
Cannings
I found that all ports were blocked apart from 80 during the capping period, and I wasn't even abusing the usage limits!
Lucky for me my contract ended and I requested my MAC code. Within a week, I was up and running with Be enjoying the internet as I am entitled to
(My posts are in this thread, just search for them)
Here's a couple of speedtests to show what I am getting while the Sky caps are in place:
Sky User Broadband Speed Test
We have detected that your ISP is Be - Your current download speed is 19544Kbps, and your current upload speed is 1050Kbps.
Your most recent test results
Test taken
(up to) Download Speed (Kbps) Upload Speed (Kbps)
09 April, 2009 18:17:03 19544 Kbps 1050 Kbps
10 February, 2009 20:19:44 416 Kbps 348 Kbps
10 February, 2009 20:11:41 352 Kbps 339 Kbps
Speeds vary due to the speedtests/networks/routing/etc.
Was hoping I would see some changes by Sky when popping back into forum, but sadly still seeing people with problems
All the best guys.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Were Sky not on LLU? Seems funny to have O2 there and not Sky...
Still, all's well that ends well...-------------------------------------------

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Nah, Sky LLU not available in Rochford, only Be (O2), Orange and TalkTalk (CarPhoneWarehouse). Heard good things from mates who are with Be, and only 1 month contracts (3 month notice). Wouldnt be so bad if Sky did have LLU, at least I'd be in a bargaining position when renewing contracts as I have phone and tv with them as well.
LoL!!! Just checked again and even AOL has LLU here!

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Where my parents live is O2 LLU and Sky say they have no plans going into that exchange.
I think they have moved the focus away from Broadband onto Sky Talk.I'm a PC, and Windows 7 Backup saved my sanity when BitDefender imploded !!!

Gazz380
Hi Gazz have to thank you for your great work in my eyes the more posts that are written the more chance sky will take note
stealthy Pleased everything is going A OK good luck for the future
andyconnect1Canningsyou will find that stealthy is giving good information
Undecided Adrian
think you could be right But they have to come back to LLU or they will find a lot Exchanges with LLU and Sky Not consideredUnexpected result received when querying the network to find your services connection details. Please try again shortly, but if this problem persists raise the issue with your service provider.
and then receiving the test results we expect I think Sky and Bt are working together otherwise they would not have been a problem not being able to run test because being busy would have came back as suchI can say more but will wait to the appropriate time
