Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?

Hi hows it going rang bt asked them to do a test to if I could get BB I gave them my post code they came back with 3Mbs I said could I get more might be able to get 3.5Mbs
said great so gave telephone number and they said only shows 1.5Mbs said I know when moved to Sky talk bt changed it. He said would look into it. Hope he does but don`t think so

My connection is all over the place on Connect. I'm physically disabled and bed-ridden so the web is my only window on life and yet i can't access most of the web because of my connection. I did at least hope that Sky Broadband Connect would allow me to view movie clips but i was wrong, i have always had to click on the 56K (dial up) button to watch clips and now 56K is just a memory......last night i watched a BBC news report frame by frame...and i'm paying £18 a month for that right!!

Don't Sky realise that if their Connect customers are receiving this poor a service they will simply go elsewhere? I have my tv, phone and of course broadband with them but i'm looking for other suppliers. And from what my friends tell me they'll be doing the same.

Sky...you cannot expect a re badged BT product at £18 a month that acts like a dial up product to satisfy your customers for long...we won't be ripped off.

As a disabled customer you should also be on the vulnerable users list as well just like all the other utilities.

This means that you should be prioritised on getting stuff resolved as this may be your only form of communication.

I doubt that in this case it would help but make sure you get on these lists for all your service providers.

my connection has definately slowed down the past week or so after 5 till midnight.

It used to be around 5 mbps and now it doesnt get over 1mbps, i am not happy about it at all, videos take ages to load up and pages load slow, any idea if its permament?

If Sky are perusing this thread please take in account the number that have read and then the numbers who have posted.

Is it a definite that Sky are persuing it ?? As I am seriously considering leaving to goto anther ISP but if Sky are willing to do something about it I may reconsider.

Its going well so far good speeds in the evenings, it drops off a little from daytome speeds but that is to be expected. Gaming wise my ping to the server is higher than what I was getting in the daytime with Sky.

jonmacuk I wouldn't hold your breath for a fix, I was having the problem for several months before I left Sky.

I would say so just look at the amount of members and growing everyday also the amount of visitors and the achievements of Skyuser site. Praise should go to the founders and staff for all their efforts one of which is below

SkyUser makes 6th in UKNetMonitor's list of sites

Sky is an ever growing company and any Business the size of Sky would look at the Skyusers site to see what sort of problems Sky Customers were having and try to solve them I believe it will get better. When I do not know, Only sky knows could be next week could be next month But Sky is not the only ISP that are having problems

It is quite amazing. I get outstanding speeds all day long (6.7mb) without a hitch then , like clockwork, around 6pm the speed drops below 1mb, every evening the same thing happens.

It is like someone is throwing a switch, or the like, to begin throttling for the evening.

There is no doubt something is going on at the SKY end and should be sorted asap or they will begin to get a similar bad name as Pipex (and others) now have.
