Sparkey,
Sky will take no notice of speedtests from there. They will only look at the official BT test, as Steve has advised.

That somebody was me that pointed you in the direction of IDNet. It would appear that you are happy with the service they provide ( I certainly am!).
You say time will tell, IDNet have provided a superb service for more than three years to my knowledgeI am sure you will very pleased with their service for a long time to come.
Let us know how you get on.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Hello, all at skyuser forums.
Ahhhh!, once again, I am reminded of the power of the internet, apart from it's ISP's
lol.
I have read a few pages of this thread and I am on skyconnect, EAROC = rochford,
southend exchange.
Now, I have noticed the terrible throttling, it's practically the same as tiscali
tried to do when they took even the [once great] Freedom2Surf.
I will post some results on here in due course, but what I am really after is a
summary of the group consensus here of the following.
1) What is a fair use per day? your thought's and legally fair ?
2) Is it considered that the throttling terms and cons of line monitoring "fairness"
are nothing more than an excuse?
3) If it is considered unfair, then can I take sky to the small claims court if they
don't give in for them breaching fair ethics as such AND get a mac forced out of them?
If I download, say, 50GB by day 25, (only once AND in my second month of
subscription) am I being throttled because of exceeding the 45GB cap, or is it just
spin and scapegoat tactics?
Thanks to skyforum for making such a helpful thread!!!!!!!!!!

You don't need to force a MAC out of them, they have to give it to you even in contract.
