Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Looks like I could be one of SKY's shortest term customers also.
Usually get 5mb average anytime of day for the past 2 years. First evening with Sky, and speeds drop to 1.2 mb. Really not happy, as I was assured that my speeds would be identical as with my previous provider. Curious that during the day, the speed is slightly higher than I have got historically.
Cant get the BT tester to work for some reason? Keeps getting

I tried but could not comply and closed the BT test window

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
Thanks guys - was using the MAC address (without : ) from my routers setup page, whereas the MAC address on the bottom is one digit different. Anyway working now.
However, Like many others my daytime speed is reducing drastically in the evening.

Spoke to SKY support who have sent me a new router in the post - Why it only decides to go slow after 6pm is a mystery. Also noticed on my Router Statistics that the Downstream db was 0db up to 4 db and sometimes showed a very strange 2,145,786,987 db's. That threw the techie somewhat. I have managed to make them promise/log that I can Cancel the agreement outside the 8 days condition, as long as they cant resolve the issue.
My line and connection at this property has been "Rock Solid" for 2 years, and the day SKY provide the service I get this rubbish. Only wish I had found this site 2 days before signing up to SKY rather than 2 days afterwards

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
It's a connect problem and they wont sort it. A new router wont help either.
You should try to sort your line out as you have noise on it and this will affect any ISP you move to, but move you will, if you want it better than it is anyway.

Re: Sky Connect Broadband - Are you being slowed down?
I have set a date, i will probably change suppliers to ADSL24 on the 2nd of april after they release their new pricing strategy.
Think there doing 1 month contract, £18 with a 30gig limit between 8am and 12am, which isnt bad so am gonna look threw this board now for the Netgear Firmware and remove skys ****!

It would be possible if you are using your own router.

Isitme
Thanks Tom.Sky agents seem to have sold a lot of connect to Customers lately
even though it is overcrowded. What I don`t understand is if a Customer of Sky Tv, or not even a Sky user. But awaiting for Sky to ring to tell them that they can now offer Sky BB. A product called Sky connect max and if its their first ISP new to the internet not knowing or informed about connect Traffic Management I wonder if that is against any selling regulation
