Turn off encryption on the router completely and see if that changes anything. Have you changed anything else in the router set up apart from the security key?

Have you ever played about with the router settings? Have you set up MAC address filtering?

come on cst and tier one cant help this guy wat is the world coming to?
go on to the router change to channel 13,
change the ssid to pretty much anything u want as long as its not the same ssid that that laptop has connected to before other wise u will get problems. leave it on wpa wep has nothing to do with it. no one goin to bother to ask where the laptop is when he tries to connect?
after changing the channel to 13 and changing the ssid take the laptop 10 ft away from the router before trying to connect also temporally turn off devices that may interfeer with wireless such as chordless phones energy efficent light bulbs blu tooth ect i also find its a gd idea to rebbot the pc after the changes have been made to the router u could also try deleting the sky network from the prefered network list
or wat you could try doing is uninstalling ur wireless card restarting the pc and when it boots up windows will automatically install the drivers all this has happend because u entered the network key wrong make sure u enter it correctly
