Are either of the other phone sockets near the PC?
You may be able to use one of them if the cabling is of sufficient quality, although you will probably need to disconnect the ring wire at the master socket.

The ring wire is the wire on connector 3 and it carries the ringing signal from the master socket to the slaves, but does nothing other than act as an aerial for interference once filters are in use.
A readup of the stickies in Cabling and faceplate help
may help with your understanding.

Try reading this it might help: DSL ZoneUK - Improve your speed - Extension wiring and Disconnection help
As others have said long extenstions will kill the broadband signal.
Can you try plugging your router into your master socket using a mains extension to power it. Check if the internet light (the one that looks like a candle) flashes orange (searching for a broadband signal ), solid orange (found broadband ) solid green (logged into Sky). Once you have established this works you can then try one of the extnsion wiring solutions others have suggested or in the link above.

O gee i had difficulty understanding googleme and that's the easiest solution, i think i'm going to try that first, but i want to make sure using a modem extension to get from the modem to the phone socket and the ethernet cable from the router to the pc won't bugger my line up?
i'm using two long wires in this situation? is it going be worse better or the same?
