Slow BB speed on Black Sky router

OK - I have had a miserable 4 weeks with SKY now,
      Original router stopped functioning.
New router sent but 'internet light' was not going green. After several calls and assurances and checking exchanges - spent two weeks - finally was told that router might be an issue as it was a reconditioned piece.
Now have got my third router - a black one this time (previous 2 were netgear white)

The problem now is this is doing speeds of only 0.1 MBPS - yes 100 KBS !!!
I've done the usual checks/changes - relocate router, micro filter in main phone socket, no other phones connected etc. but still - 100KBPS!!!

Is there something I can do before I call up SKY & ask for another router.

I have searched this site & there is lot of information - too much for a novice like me - So is there something specific for this issue - PLEASE .

      thanks, ash

It is unlikely to be your router. It is possible your line has been put into a test state. Post your stats from the router and someone will be able to help.

Also make sure your PC settings are correct by using TCPOptimiser

Note - When downloading always select the Custom install or you will end up with stuff you don't want.
