What could this be? Frustration With Excchange
Ive been online all day today and had no problems.The problems start when 6pm to 8pm in the evening comes.This is the 3 rd day my internets dropped out for about 20 mins each time.Apart from Monday when it stayed off for an hr.When contacting sky about this they say there fixing something at the exchange.My problem is every single day since monday apart from Wednesday its been like this.I just wish if this is true the exchange would sort it out for good so i can have a few good evenings when everythings goin well and it dont go off for 20 mins to a hr because of some maintanience they have to do.
Still fingers crossed im on now and after gettin off the fone to sky just now i hope it continues to run well the rest of the evening.Hopefully tomorrow night i wont need to make yet another fone call to be told exchange is fixing something .I understand things need to be fixed but since monday i been phoning daily apart from wednesday when i had trouble free internet for the whole evening for onceLast edited by Mat28; 11-10-07 at 08:03 PM.

It's possible that there has been an equipment issue on the exchange and that engineers are investigating it to sort things out. Somtimes this done quickly but sometimes it can take a few days if there is a hardware swap out needed.

Ususally it goes off between hrs of 6pm -8pm usually for about 20 mins to an hr.Then its all going well untill 12 -2am comes along not sure how long it goes off for then cause i go bed lol.And apart from this mornin where it went off again for another 2hr its been ok.I noticed my downstream speed increasing as well its always been 37.04 kb/sec but over past few days its now reached 5825 kb/s so u no i think there is stuff being done.Hopefully next week shall be a lot better.I think there should be a number u can ring so u can find out service status on your local exchange or a letter to tell u whats goin on.Cause i no quite a few people who start messing about with there internet setup when they start aving problems.And when my internet does go i ave tried doing every single thing to get online again but nothing works.So i leave it and it all comes back on automatic.Thx for the advice

If you ring TS they can see if the exchange has issues other than that a proper status page with upgrade info would probably just start people calling support asking why their exchange wasn't getting upgraded etc. Hopefully if you are seeing improvements in your line speed then it may just be equipment being seapped out or upgraded at the exchange.
I do agree though, it would be better to have full and proper information available to customers as it would probably cut calls to TS..... but then the customers have to pay for the calls
