Downstream speed dropped from 15323 to 7322 ????
Hi all,
I have been with Sky broadband for several months now and have had no real problems and very high speeds (happy customer really), but now all of a sudden my speed seems to have dropped so I checked the router Configuration and my Downstream speed has been cut from 15323 Kbps to 7322 Kbps.
I am on the MAX package and I usually have great speedtests of around 10 -12 mbps but now I am only getting approximately 7..... does anyone have any ideas ???
I have included my stats as this will probably help you to help me !!!
Thanks

Re: Downstream speed dropped from 15323 to 7322 ????
It looks like something nasty's happened to your phone line, because the noise margin is suggesting that 7000-odd kbit/sec is all your line is capable of, as opposed to Sky having artificially 'capped' your speed.
Have you done anything to the phone wiring in the house? Added a new extension? I'm guessing not, because you'd have already latched on to that being the cause of the problem, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

In reply to your message,
No I havent touched anything to do with the phone line, I am gonna try a new filter on my modem (its the only phone connection in the house !) and hope that the problem goes ......
Thanks for the quick response, I shall let you know how get on.
