Did you speak to T3, it was my understanding from other posts that they could do it immediately. If you only spoke to T1, you were fobbed off, phone back and get T3.

Tier 3 customer support. Sky's customer support is separated into three levels with tier 1 - the first people you speak to - being people who are trained with the kinds of simple problems that lots of people encounter, and tier 3 being the really knowledgeable people who deal with all the tricky problems.

well when i phoned them up yesterday she did not tell me about the tier 3.. all she said i done a ticket for you and someone will call you with in 3-5 workin days

As far as I understand it (bearing in mind that I'm still not connected with Sky Broadband yet), the "we'll call you back within 5 days" reply is how they normally do things when problems need to be handled by tier 3. You have to know you need tier 3 and then ask the tier 1 staff to be put through to the tier 3 staff (although they may not be able to get through during busy periods).
It's this kind of information that makes the Sky User site so invaluable.
