Uh - yes. I thought that's what you were doing. You said earlier:
Yes it can be a pain as it does disconnect all extensions (that's the point). If you've not been plugging into the test socket (behind the faceplate) then it is a possibility that your old filtered faceplate has failed. To minimise inconvenience I suggest the following:
Before you go to bed tonight, plug into the test socket and reboot the router. Then start downloading a really big file such as a Linux distro. Leave it running overnight and then when you get up in the morning take your stats. That should be more than enough traffic to show any errors. When you've done that you can plug everything back in as you want.

OK, thanks Ill do that tonight does it matter if Im downloading over wireless?

No, though unless you have an excellent wireless connection you won't download as much as you would wired and it's quantity we need.
