Re: What happens now
Believe me, I wouldn't have been surprised if it were true.
To be honest, I'm amazed at how pleasant and genuinely apologetic all the people who I've spoken to at Provisioning are. If only they were actually able to do anything to remedy the situation...

Re: What happens now
i rang sky today to get the whole shabang - tv, inet and phone.
they told me the installation guys would be round on friday between 8am and 1pm to install the dish and wires and stuff and also mentioned that they've estimated that I'll be able to get between 8 and 16 meg (I'm going for the max package).
they also said that the 'equipment' would take between 3 and 5 working days to arrive.
1) is this 'equipment' the modem/router and filters etc?
2) i did a bt check on my line out of interest, and they reckond i'd be able to get 6 meg if i had gone for their broadband. realistically what speed can i expect from the max package? i'm hoping i manage at least 10 meg.
3) when they've installed everything, do they just leave a random wire hanging out somewhere which we then connect to the router for the inet? i chose self installation and i'm not exactly sure how much i'll have to do for myself.
thanks guys, wkd forum btw

Re: What happens now
Only one of them questions i know the answer to is number 1 and 3, 1: yes thats what the equipment is!
3. Once your lines activated just plug your router in the phone line and pc and your away, the instructions are quite simple anyway!
Now for my question, i got my router today, when do i actually know when my lines activated, my letter says it should be activated on 20th but can take an additional 3 days, do i try it from then or do i just wait untill my connection dies?
Thanks
Marc

Re: What happens now
If you have another router with another ISP, leave it running until it goes down. When it does, plug in your Sky one and you should reconnect within an hour. That assumes that change over is done without hitches. Keep your fingers

Re: What happens now
So once sky's installed everything i'll still be able to watch tv even if my telephone line isn't activated yeah? i take it the television is completely seperate from the phone line/broadband service. i'm only having the standard sky box so i don't need it to be hooked up to a telephone line right?
