Transfer Over Vs New Installation
Hi,
I'm ordering Sky BB but just want people's experience whether it's less hassle to cancel existing connection and then order it from sky. Or is it less hassle to go the MAC route?

Re: Transfer Over Vs New Installation
It depends who your ISP is. Some seem to cause more problems (for Sky) than others. If you transfer with a MAC you should only have a few minutes downtime, cease and restart can take anything from 1-3 weeks, mainly because it can take BT 5 days to take ADSL of your line then Sky about 5 days to put it back on.
If you are with a BT provider, like Plusnet, I would advise using a MAC. Some have experienced great difficulties when moving from ISPs like TalkTalk.

Re: Transfer Over Vs New Installation
I had no problem at all transferring with a MAC from Plusnet, with only 40 mins. downtime. Remember to advise Plusnet you are leaving when you ask for your MAC.
