Re: what does uPnP do?
After reading this I guess I must be one lucky fella. 60 days now without a disconnection and I've just realised UPnP has been turned on throughout this period. Thinking back I know know why I didnt have to assign a static ip for utorrent to work correctly - UPnP takes care of this.

Re: what does uPnP do?
Me too, I have been running for months with it enabled and have had no problems. It is strange how it effects some routers and not others.

Re: what does uPnP do?
It affected me but not my flatmate -- her computer is near to the router and wireless connection was much better that mine which is at the limits of range. The symptoms were ON/OFF connection repeatedly at start-up, settling if left for five minutes. Problem went away permanently when I turned off UPnP.
