Is a MAC really needed?
Hi,
Next month I'm planning to ditch CW's TalkTalk package and go to SKY as they have unbundled my local exchange (The only one's to do so so far).
As I'm not currently on an LLU enabled line I'm wondering if I really need a MAC? I'm also transferring line rental back to BT beforehand.
What do others think?
Cheers

Re: Is a MAC really needed?
yes you will need a MAC, unless you want to completly cancel your broadband before switching, which could mean a while without Broadband

Re: Is a MAC really needed?
Thanks for that - I am slightly wary of the process, so I may indeed lose BB before transitioning.

Re: Is a MAC really needed?
Provided Sky don't make a mess of it,(as they often seem to do
) migration with a MAC should be painless and involve less than an hours downtime.

Re: Is a MAC really needed?
Problem I had was the router did not arrive until four days after the line was switched. Apparently this is not unusual.

Re: Is a MAC really needed?
Thanks - it's probably not so much SKY that I am now concerned about - more to do with getting the line rental back to BT, whilst not losing BB with TalkTalk before then getting a MAC for SKY - not the most straightforward of operations knowing TT - but watch this space as they say!
Cheers
