Are Sky capping Max Adsl2+ customers at Gmdt?

I am getting upgraded to Max in about 7 days time, currently on Mid package getting
Sync at 8128kbps and speed of 6500kbps.

After everything I've read in this forum many people have been capped at Gdmt which is around 8mbps, even those that have really good line stats.

They are given many excuses, being told by tier 1&2 that they can only get that maximum of speed, and not raising a ticket for tier 3.

I am regretting asking for Max if this is what sky will intend doing to me.

If they do I will revert back to Mid or cancel (if possible and use 'breech of contract').

My stats are: 8128kbps down, 448kbps up, atten: 24db, snr: 10db
I am 1.4km from my exchange, my stats show no errors

What do you think of my stats are they ok for adsl2+

Many Max customers have line errors or are at a distance from the exchange and are rightly capped at 8mb.
But many should be achieving better speeds.

Hopefully if many Max customers phone & email sky broadband and post to this forum instead of excepting the word from someone in tier 1 who doesn't really know what gdmt is, then sky might start listening.

In fairness, I haven't read a huge amount from users who were capped at 8mb then uncapped and achieved vastly better rates.

Most stories I have read are of users asking to be uncapped and then finding that they have then got an unstable line.

Remember, just because you have good line stats at 8mb on G.DMT doesn't mean you are going to have good stats on 16mb ADSL2+

to give an estimate of potential connection speed on ADSL2+. Although, as has already been mentioned, it will be dependant on your line condition and errors.

I'll be happy with 10mbps when i get Max.
