Fibre speed issues - since begining.

Currently get about 40Mbp maximum (yes this is direct connection to router via cat 5). Sky test indicates 53Mbps (not sure why the difference). Spoken to sky who say my estmated speed is 48-65 so 53 is fine.

Ive got a pre-filtered faceplate. Tried new one - same. Tried plugging direct to master socket - with dongle - same.

Talked sky into replacing router - same.

Any more ideas? Is it worth looking at buying 3rd party router?

Is there any way to tell what speed should be based on line attenuation and SNR?

If you are using a sr102 I would consider getting a modem you can unlock so you can see your full line stats and run your sr102 in wanoe mode...

Lots of factors to bear in mind such as...

Cab type - huawei or eci
      Line condition/line noise etc
      Your line stats....

If you are using a sr102 have a look at your stats. All be it they are very basic on the sr102..

If you want more info do ask...
      zyxel VMG3925 (bridge mode)
      Qotom i5 Opnsense with IPV6
      Asus RT-AC88U - as wap

      ECI CAB- G.INP disabled 8th April 2016
