Upgraded from Sky Fibre to Fibre Max

Going from Sky Fibre Unlimited to Fibre Max. They're also sending me a "Version 3" router which I'm assuming is the Sky Q router.

However, the upgrade has happened within 12 hours of calling them. But I've still got the old SR102 router plugged in. I've heard not to disconnect anything during the first week of line "going live". So do I leave my old router plugged in, and after the week, plug in the new router?

Entirely up to you as both routers will work with Sky Fibre Max. The Hub 3 (which is the Sky Q hub) does have better WiFi and gigabit Ethernet sockets (albeit only 2 though).

Re: Upgraded from Sky Fibre to Fibre Max

I meant more in terms of disconnecting my current router to switch over to the Sky Q hub, would it disrupt the line in any way.

Cos when I first got fibre from adsl, the router arrived first, which I then plugged in, and was told not to turn off the router as from that they will determine the line quality, for a week if I recall correctly. So it was Router First >>>> Then Line Activation.

This time around it's Line Activation First >>>> Router Second. Will switching the router within the week cause problems?

One disconnection will make no difference. Disconnecting several times in a hour will.
