      Sky Fibre IP Address Starting 151

      I recently switched to fibre and am having trouble with an IP address starting 151.

      I use a Sonos sound system and listen to BBC Radio shows on catchup via TuneIn. It just doesnt work with IP Addresses starting 151 it seams not to route to TuneIn.

      On regular broadband I had the same issue and just rebooted the router till it issued a non 151 IP Address.

      As IP Addresses are more sticky on Fibre I have been leaving the hub off all day to try to force a new IP Address and each time it gives me a new 151 IP Address. It even reverted to a previous 151 IP address overnight without a reboot

      I am now at the end of my teather. I cant use the Sonos in a way I want with a 151 IP Address so fibre is becoming useless.

      Are all fibre IP addresses 151 or will I eventully get another range

      What else can I do!!!

      If I have understood correctly, you use your router's range of ip's not the modem.

      I too use tunein (I don't have a sonos sound system or know what it is). I have no problems streaming catchup stuff.

      I dont have a BTO Modem, just a Sky Hub 102 so am using the assigned IP Address which starts 151, I cant even connect to TuneIn on a PC. This issue is definitely an IP issue and nothing else. I just want a range not starting 151 but each time I leave the hub off overnight I get a 151 address everytime

      What ip address do you use to login to the router part of the combined modem / router?
      192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1?

      Or is it totally different with the combined modem / router? I don't have on of those.

      It's the external IP address that's the issue not internal 192 range. That has nothing to do with this

      I have never known of the external address being a problem with anything.
      I am no expert but I think you should be using 192. etc.

      192.168.x.x are the internal IP and that's what they are and they are ok. The external is the ip issued by sky and mine is always 151.x.x.x. Every time I leave the hub off and switch back on it issues another 151. I would love to get a 2.x.x.x. Howw????

      I don't see how a 151 is any different to a 2xx?

      Arghhhhhh that's the whole point of the post!!!!!! It shouldn't be different but it is. I simply want to know how to get a non 151 IP address and if they exist on fibre cos 151 are blocking Tunein traffic

      There is no way to force allocation of an ip address within a certain range.
      It will only ever be random.

      I think the only thing you can do realistically is contact the site / service admin people & point out what's going on.
