Interesting... Just tried to call Sky and I'm not getting a dial tone where I was last night and this morning. Guess I'll have to call them from work in the morning. I work for Nat Geo which confuses them as my work number comes up as VIP.

Double check about your dial tone tomorrow morning before you leave as that could be a separate fault which needs to be reported.

Simply play ball with whomever you get. Yes they need to follow the script but calmly explain what you have tried and that the line was dead. Once you explain that you reset the router they should click that it is the router at fault, not your devices or the Internet connection.

Re: Not possible to wirelessly connect to my SR101..

Thanks again Scubbie, almost shot myself in the foot by reporting the phone problem first meaning they couldn't even look at the router problem till that had been sorted, but then it turns out the system at Sky still has been down as waiting for a router to be sent out (Go figure), lovely girl there sorted that and has put another one out for despatch (SR101.. boo) so I'll just have to wait till next week and keep my fingers crossed. Of course the MOST annoying thing is due to Sky's lack despatch system, I was sent out an extra SR101 last year and ONLY last week as I was decorating the bedroom thought to myself "I'm never going to need to use that, I'm throwing it.." and did. Let that be a lesson to everyone!

So, in short, no Battlefield 4 for me this weekend, I'll have to, I don't know, read or something.. (shudder)

Re: Not possible to wirelessly connect to my SR101..

If it helps, I have a jar of sea salt in the kitchen.

      Also I have a spare SR101 myself (don't ask!).

Unfortunately I only have the one BTO Modem though.

Just in case, could I suggest that you log into your 'My Sky' page on the Sky website and check the 'Order Tracking' page. This should help to check what is happening.

You may find that the router is added near midnight.

Re: Not possible to wirelessly connect to my SR101..

Well it gets stranger.. The router seemingly came back to life late last night after another hard reboot, still without a phone line which they fixed at around 8:30 this morning, the net connection, so far, is still working, so I'm just confused. Think I'll switch out for the new router anyway when it arrives..

It sounds likely that this is an intermitant fault, which is harder to identify in some cases.

Do swap over the routers though and don't throw away the faulty one. You may be asked to return it to Sky.

Re: Not possible to wirelessly connect to my SR101..

Curiouser and curiouser.. Maybe I'm just getting paranoid or really unlucky. Still waiting for the new router, the old one seems to be working in fits and starts, the iPhone and iPad can connect to it, so can the Samsung TV downstairs, but the Sky+ HD box, PS4 and Xbox One are all refusing to connect, and here is the weird part, and hopefully someone can tell me it's the router, but the PS4 controller is now having problems connecting and the Xbox One controller won't connect at all.. Any clues?
