      Re: fibre today

They should have tested your line to see.

Go to bt.com put in your details and it will show what speeds you can get

      Re: fibre today

You cannot tell what you will get on Fibre by looking at ADSL stats. Your speed on ADSL depends largely on how far you are from the exchange, fibre speed is regulated by how far you are from the cabinet. You should have been given an estimate when you were signing up.

      Re: fibre today

Ok, so to say I'm ****** off is an understatement.

I called sky to be told openreach couldn't attend to switch me over and I now have to wait till 12th Feb. To top it all off I can't have a refund of 50 as this has been sent to openreach. Ha ha ha. What a load a crap.
I used to like sky but my experience yesterday was terrible!

      Re: fibre today

I would contact Ofcom and put a complaint in if I were in your position.

Sure Sky arrange things for you and make the appointments with BTO, but for BTO just not to bother and do the work, this is unacceptable.

      fibre today

To be told that you cannot have the refund as it has been sent to Openreach is a lot of nonsense. Any money you pay you pay to Sky, what they have to use that payment for does not change whether it can be refunded or not and will show up on your account as a payment taken. It will not say it was forwarded or sent to Openreach or anything like that so it sounds like you have been spun a yarn.

      Re: fibre today

Your contract is with sky not openreach if you want a refund you are legally entitled to one because sky broke it by not install on the agreed date no matter what happens with openreach

I too was supposed to switched to fibre today but received a text this afternoon saying that an engineer attempted to install your broadband today. call us to rearrange a new appointment.
So I phoned sky. they hadn't got a clue why I received the text.
The gizza mentioned something about the BTO engineer reported a problem with my cabinet. I guess he probably couldn't be bothered to get out his van in the rain (sorry to any BTO engineers out there just having a rant) so we await!!.

If it aint broke take it apart, it soon will be.
