I'm currently using this router on Sky BB, this Friday I will be upgraded to Sky fibre.

Will I be able to continue to use the vigor or will I have to piggyback to the new Sky hub

      Any help much appreciated

      Re: Vigor 2820n and fibre

Sadly the Vigor 2820n is an ADSL router and does not have a VDSL Modem.

Looking at the manual for your router, you may have to follow the guide in this thread:

      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/askin...-together.html

Sadly this would mean that the backup feature of the 3G dongle would not work if your Internet connection were to go down.

If it does have the Ethernet WAN port then you could follow this guide:

      http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/askin...nk-dir613.html

This would allow the Vigor to continue running your network and the 3G backup could be used if your Internet connection were to go down.

Thanks for the reply, that's great

Not sure what you mean when you make reference to the 3G dongle

My switch over is sometime today, no idea when sometime up to midnight.

Stupid question, when will I know it has happened, will I loose normal BB connection?

lol - Good to know things are working.

As for the 3G dongle, that is something I picked up whilst reading the manual.

Basically your router allows you to connect a 3G dongle to the USB port. Should your Internet connection go down, you could plug a suitable 3G dongle into the USB port and use this as your Internet connection until things are repaired. Please check the manual for more information.
