Sky Fibre Speeds
Hi, I have been a Sky Fibre Optic Unlimited BroadbandCustomer Since Nov 2012 & Since then I have been getting Full 40 MBPSDownload / 10 MBPS Upload Speeds but as per Sky Line Checker I should begetting 28 MBPS Download / 8 MBPS Upload Speeds. I have also checked with BT& they advise the same as Sky. I have asked Sky that what speeds does myline supports so that I can upgrade to Sky Fibre Optic Pro package but they saythat my line only supports 28 MBPS Download / 8 MBPS Upload Speeds so theycan't give me Sky Fibre Optic Pro package but when I asked them that why I amgetting 40 MBPS Download / 10 MBPS Upload, they have no answer or logicalexplanation.
Is there any way I can check that what my line actually supports & whetherit will be worthwhile to upgrade to the next package or Move over to BTInfinity to get Higher Speeds?

Re: Sky Fibre Speeds
Post your router stats please.
As a rough guide, if your line can only support 28Mb, you will be about 600 to 800 metres from your supply cabinet. If it supports 40Mb you will be within about 100 metres.
Depending on the modem you have you may by able to flash it with firmware to get the modem stats. This will show the speed you are getting and your maximum possible speed. What modem do you have, ECI or Hauwei?

Note - When downloading always select the Custom install or you will end up with stuff you don't want.
