Ok, the news from the network guys is that there are no issues with the backhaul where you are.

Can I ask you to confirm that your exchange is Cleckheaton (MYCLE) please?

      SamKnows - Telephone Exchange Search

If you are, could I ask you to check which devices are connected to your router next time things are slow please?

If you can identify EACH device connected and be sure that no one has managed to connect to your router who should not have.

If there is, we can provide you with some very easy details to prevent them.

Re: Exchange showing signs of congestion

The times on this suggest that something is busy on your connection.

I know that you have stated that you checked everything, so now we need to rule out some other things.

Firstly, can you please change your WiFi settings. If you can use the guide here to help: Changing the Wireless settings

Can you please change both the Wireless name (SSID) and your Wireless Password please.

The wireless name can be anything you like, but please avoid rude words or anything to identify which house it belongs to (i.e. khile wifi, number12). The password needs to be a minimum of 8 characters. It doesn't have to be too complex but do avoid obvious ones (i.e. password). Remember too that you should make a note of the password for when you have friends around.

Can you also run some software to scan your computer. Make sure that you don't have any nasties on it. There are some on-line AV scanners, but also check for Malware. Malwarebytes is a good one:

Malwarebytes : Malwarebytes Anti-Malware removes malware including viruses, spyware, worms and trojans, plus it protects your computer

There may well be something hidden on your computer really well. There are other tools available and this is just for starters. Looking at that graph the issue started around 2.30pm yesterday and is still going strong. The person whom I chat with at Sky checked with the network team and confirmed that there is no backhaul issue in your exchange, so it does look like something on your connection that we need to identify.

That is definitely not backhaul congestion but, as Scubbie mentioned something is being a bit busy on your connection. Backhaul congestion disappears during off-peak times.

Re: Exchange showing signs of congestion

I agree with you there Simon.

That graph is live, so what ever is causing the problem stopped at around 1.30pm today.

I am more inclined to suspect something rouge going on in the background.
