Sky Broadband will be up and running by

This is a discussion on Sky Broadband will be up and running by within the Sky Broadband (Fibre) Help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; I'm upgrading to Sky's fibre broadband. I've just received a text from Sky stating: "Hello. Great news - Your Sky ...

Sky Broadband will be up and running by

I'm upgrading to Sky's fibre broadband. I've just received a text from Sky stating: "Hello. Great news - Your Sky Broadband will now be up and running by 4/10/13 any time up until midnight that day ...".

What does this mean? It's ambiguous. Can I assume that I will be able to receive the fibre broadband service from 00:01 on 4th October or only from 23:59 on 4th October?

Stating the deadline as a datetime (a point in time) rather than a date (which lasts 24 hours) would eliminate this ambiguity. Furthermore, it makes it sound like the service will no longer be available after midnight on 4th October.

To me it means your broadband should be running by midnight on the 4th. It could be before the 4th, but that is unlikely with Fibre, although it often happens with ADSL.
