    Exchange Information

This is a discussion on Exchange Information within the Sky Broadband (Fibre) Help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; It'll be good if this is a step towards vectoring. I wonder how the Sky Hub SR102 will handle this? ...

Either way it will be a positive step in the right direction.

      Re: Exchange Information

I was wondering if the SR102 shows any better info and/or stats when used on fibre? If not, presumably Sky would (at last) have access to such stats? Must remember to ask "a friend" if he has any info on these points!

      - - - Updated - - -

PS. Just re-reading on the changes to band plan, it's only been observed on Huawei kit (doh! obviously!), but I suppose it could also be happening on ECI kit - it's just that it's so difficult to hack the ECI, so I presume few have actually done it?

Perhaps someone can post to confirm this (please?)?

      Re: Exchange Information

The SR102 shows the same stats for fibre as it does for adsl (speed, attenuation and noise margin). Interestingly, it shows my upstream attenuation as 0db. Everything else looks normal.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll stick with the SR101 and the BTOR modem then!

Have you tried running Routerstats Lite to see if it records the Noise margin?

I suppose that's one small point in favour of the 102 over the 101 for fibre users.

Small being the operative word really!

Because an unlocked BTOR modem yields lots more useful information too, which presumably cannot be accessed on the SR102.

      Re: Exchange Information

      Hi,
Please can someone advise how the best way is to escalate this matter to Sky?

      Many thanks,
