      Hi

Starting from the top left that was done at 3pm and the second at 5pm and the 3rd about an hour ago. Would you like me to complete some more or is that okay?

      Thanks,

      Re: Exchange Information

Those results are fairly consistent. The don't look too bad either.

For a straight comparison, these are the results on my connection:

      PHP Code:
      Pinging www.bbc.net.uk [212.58.246.94with 32 bytes of data:

      Reply from 212.58.246.94
      bytes=32 time=16ms TTL=56

      Ping statistics
      for 212.58.246.94:

      PacketsSent 4Received 4Lost (0loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

      Minimum 15msMaximum 16msAverage 15ms
I ran the same test 3 times (WiFi & Ethernet to WNDR3800, followed by Ethernet to SR101). Each gave similar results.

There was a little activity from another computer at the same time, but on the whole nothing major.

With the response from the people at Sky and what you have posted, this all leads me to believe that something else is to blame.

Could I ask you to monitor things in general please? One idea is to list any times when this issue happens again and run the above tests. The other thing which I would like you to check is the list of connected devices.

If you can do this now and identify each device connected. Print off the list if it helps.

Please don't post the details in full as it contains information which hackers could utilise.

What I am thinking is that someone could have hacked your WiFi and using your Internet connection. Rather than jump to conclusions, check things over first and see it you can confirm this. We can then suggest things to beef up your WiFi security if this is the case.

      Hi there,

      Thanks for your response

I have checked and all devices add up okay. I have however, changed the security key to stronger one and the security is WPA2.

Please can you advise what else I could try to do to find out the cause of the issue?

      Re: Exchange Information

Keep an eye on it for now. That was the main thing which I could think of.

I would also triple check that each device you have connected to the router is clean of all nasties. There are many around which can compromise a computer these days and generate lots of traffic. You may need to download some tools to remove some difficult nasties.

      Re: Exchange Information

      Hi,
Thanks for the response, I will monitor things and see how it goes. I have just done a basic test for an REIN interference by setting a radio to 612KHz and am picking up interferences and also what appears to be a radio station. Am I correct in thinking that there should not be any interference on that frequency?

Do you know of any software that I can use to capture the line performance and look for any spikes on the line?

      Re: Exchange Information

It should be silent, but will get worse near the source.

I believe that there is a Radio station in France or Luxembourg close to this frequency. Otherwise I am puzzled about the voices.

      Re: Exchange Information

Ok thanks, I will monitor and see. In the meantime is there any particular servers that I should use on the speedtest.net that are most accurate with Sky Fibre Pro?

      Re: Exchange Information

The two servers which have been recommended as they have sufficient bandwidth are both London based on the speedtest.net site:

      • Namesco
      • Structured Communications

From personal experience it is also important to have a good computer too.
