Sky fibre speed and should i moan?

Hi all, had fibre for about 2 weeks now, im synced at 40000 but my maximum download speed is only 28000 its almost like someone miss typed my speed into something as i was expecting the full 38000.

Just as a little background, the fibre cabinet is outside my house, virtually hit it with a stone from my front door, even the BTO engineer said i would max out the line conenction i was so close ( a few meters) even if i was on 80/20.

So... should i have a little moan at sky and see whats up or will i get the usual ' well there's nothing we can do its probably your connection" ?

Any help apreciated as i would like the full speed for what im paying, obviously as well if i was to upgrade later to 80/20 i might not get it.

      Thank you.

What do you get on this test? (on a wired connection)

Are you measuring that throughput speed on a wired connection or a wireless connection? You didn't say. So if it's wireless, try wired first of all.

Re: Sky fibre speed and should i moan?

Are you using wireless to check the speed? If you are you will never get the full possible speed due to interference and the extra overheads of wireless. That is until an AC class router and adapter become available, then you should see little difference between wireless and ethernet, in theory at least.

If you are using ethernet to check the speed, then it is worth raising with Sky. It is possible you have a fault in your connection or the exchange is suffering throughput problems.
