The router should just be able to be plugged in and work.
It will take up to around an hour for the router to connect to Sky's servers. If it doesn't give Sky a call as the router may be locked out.
Routers become associated with your account by their use on your line. Sometime a router is locked out when a customer has failed to pay a bill or some other issue.
