      Gigabit alternative to Sky Hub

      Hi,
I am quite keen to replace my sky hub with something with gigabit ports.

Can anyone recommend one which ideally has a vdsl modem built in, or alternatively, will any router do for fibre if the openreach modem is still in place?

      thanks

sky use a version of MER authentication so only a few with a vdsl modem built in such as those made by billion and draytek. any cable router that can be flashed with DD-WRT or OPEN-WRT will work. the airport extreme range also work.

there are various threads and guides around the site.

      Gigabit alternative to Sky Hub

Oh course you could wait for the well known forthcoming new Sky Router, apparently due September. This is thought to be an all in one box, together with ghz ports. All rumours of course, but well educated ones non the less. It's well discussed I'm the link here titles BT Home Hub 5

Depends what Other features you want.

I use a Ubiquiti Edge router Lite at the moment, but given it only has 3 ports and no wireless most people probably wouldn't be interested.
