Can you tell me if it will be capable of broadcasting multiple SSIDs? Really miss having one for my wife and I to use which is permanently on, and then another one to run on a schedule to limit the kids use beyond bedtime!

Re: New Sky Hub in September

Apart from the cosmetic change and having a built in VDSL modem, the SR102 is similar to the SR101 in spec. Same wireless speed, same 4 port 100mbps switch and a very similar GUI. No USB port. It still fails to indicate in the wireless mode, that it is N standard and still shows some devices as Unknown, whether they are in the reserve list or not. It does have updated ADSL firmware which it is hoped will iron out a lot of the connection problems being experienced by some SR101 users. I personally have found it to be very stable, keeping its connection to all my devices. I have never had to reboot or reset to get the connection back.

The most likely release date to the public is likely to be November.

Re: New Sky Hub in September

I'm sure some of the other testers who are members of this forum will add more to this:

From what I can see the new hub is basically a re-working of 101, the big change being that it negates the need for a BT modem when used for fibre. It does not offer Dual-Band WiFi. It does not have Gigabit ports

I'm a non-fibre user but I have been very impressed with the WiFi speed and the overall stability of the new hub.

Also been testing the SR102 here on my ADSL line. Very stable with a much quicker GUI on Macs. It's a very small step in the right direction, but still lagging behind or ISP's routers.

If sky cant supply the goods they should allow us to use our own routers!

I know this has been discussed before but as nothing official had been released I guess it was all speculation. Does the SR102 have the capability to operate in modem only mode?

This question was asked during the trial, unfortunately the response was 'The unit has not been designed for this purpose but this has been feedback to the future products team'

I was thinking of running a poll:

"The Sky Hub SR102 is the biggest disappointment since ..."
