      Sky intercepting DNS calls?

in an effort to bypass sky's cdn cache servers for youtube etc as sky's cache servers are so overloaded its a joke
I have been looking into dns redirection done by sky

I am using google dns below and its still redirecting to sky's servers
this clearly shouldnt happen as google do no dns redirection on google dns
so sky are intercepting the traffic
has anyone found a solution to this?

      Re: Sky intercepting DNS calls?

If there's a Google caching box on Skys network it's not impossible they also have a DNS server on Skys network as well

I think 8.8.8.8 is an anycast address so it will route to their nearest DNS cluster.

Or Google reply with the "nearest" cluster/node capable of serving content to you, The DNS server would know the source IP of the request so it wouldn't be impossible for it to know it's a SKY ip and thus return the IP of the on Network CDN.

Be interested to see what anwser you get when VPN'd perticullarly as windows has a Nasty habit of using your default network adapters DNS server instead of the VPN adapters one. Terribly insecure as it leaks DNS requests onto the untrusted network.
