N66U to replace 2504N (FIBRE) - massive issues

I am not stupid , I have followed the guides, flashed merlin firmware on there.....but nothing works, cannot get DCHP connection.

I have put firmware on , added the string from the password generator, and nothing, waited for 1 hour plus.

Am I correct in thinking the BT modem goes into the N66U WAN Port?, cause I have done that
Does the password go in the box under WAN and advanced settings? done that
Do I need to press the clone mac id button?

All help greatly appreciated as 24 hours on and nothing and getting quite emotional about it all.

I would really appreciate anyone who has got the N66U to work with the Modem using Sky Fibre giving me a dummys guide walkthru
