      Hi Paul
      Well really it is good news as you seem to be obtaining the max of 40/10 on your router, so there is little Sky can do to better that.
      As Andrew states, it can be down to hardware and other programmes running.
      Try another pc or something. Good Luck!

      try JD's Auto Speedtester. Make sure that you read the getting started section of the manual and configure it properly.

      downloaded the speedtest software and config it as described fastest i get is about 16Mbps
      Tried the file download the fastest speed i get is 2.6MBps which is rubbish if sky can not sort this out they can cancel the lot

      ok, the only other thing i can think of is to make sure all your network adapters software/firmware are up to date and to do as Johnelf has said and try a different PC. Have you also tried running the tests in safe mode with networking. also try with you AV software turned off
