Re: Sky Fibre VDSL Faceplate question

Could anyone please confirm the size of the new fibre master socket compared to the ADSL socket. A BT engineer told me last week it was physically larger than ADSL but looking at the image above it looks the same size. My master socket is in the unfortunate location of being behind large Ikea wardrobes so if its larger than the ADSL socket I need to get the tools out again to make the hole in the back of the wardrobe larger. Fibre install in a weeks time.

      Thanks

As it is only a faceplate height and width are same as NTE5 but it will protrude further.

Including the NTE5 socket, mine now sticks out by a total of 6cm. Add a little extra for any wires that need to be plugged in or a splitter or two and that'll give a good idea if you have any further problems.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

The BTO Engineer can always move the socket if this is possible.

Offer of a cup of tea/coffee may help.
