I'm waiting to see if a Sky Fibre product/price revamp will be announced at BSkyB Q2 results announcement on 2 May 2013.

If there is anything in the pipeline, it is a closely guarded secret. Your best bet would be to call up and tell them you are thinking of leaving as you can get twice the speed for the same money elsewhere. You might get an upgrade with a good offer to stay.

Sigh, looks like the race to the bottom is happening all over again.

At 30 it's already to cheap.

      Re: sky fibre pro

I think I must be missing something and feel silly for asking, I just signed up for the 40 / 10 service with Sky.

Correct me if I am wrong but how are BT charging zero extra on the higher package. All I see on the websites are the following

      Sky:
      20 a month or 30 a month

      BT:
      23 a month or 26 a month

So BT are 4 less for the higher package but 3 more for the lower?

      Re: sky fibre pro

but if you want higher package 4 less for the higher yeah but if you put that in with everything else the point i was making was that bt are giving increases for 4 les that bt soon it will probly be less infact sky might offer a better deal if i told them this may not but may be not i cannot understand why fibre pro is worked like this

honestly i would like anyone else opinion on this

Don't forget PlusNet is 19.99 for an "80/20" product that is now apparently unlimited.

      Re: sky fibre pro

Thats alright, the reason I asked was if I could have had the faster speed for no more I would have moved to BT.

There is no doubt that for the higher speed out of the two BT is the much better deal, But for me personally I could not justify the extra money

Actually they're both stupid for offering "unlimited" for so cheap, they're relying on the Fact that most people won't use it, but with usage increasing all the time eventually something will have to give.

Also Plusnet's pricing is about as close to the bottom of the barrel as it can get, if people actually use the service they make a loss on that customer.

Bandwidth costs, internet transit is ironically actually the cheapest part it's the links required to get it to the exchanges that actually work out more expensive
