Not good about waiting a month for the installation, but the time will fly.

You'll probably get a lot of phone calls, letters, emails and text messages between now and the installation date and another letter after then.

Since you are already on sky Broadband, you can also connect up the new Sky Hub SR101 when it arrives. This will give you time to set it all up how you wish to use it.

Ensure that the 'Router Mode' is left on "Auto" until you have the Fibre connection. Once you are connected up you can change this to "WANOE" at any time if you want to.

You're certainly right about the emails and texts, I've had 2 of each already. The last email told me to contact them urgently as there was another problem with my details on the order, I phoned them and the advisor couldn't help me as their entire system was down.
It's about this time that you get fed up dealing with Sky customer services......sigh

I trust that this was resolved though?

Ok. Hopefully you'll be able to speak with someone later this evening. If not, call after 9am tomorrow.

Re: Sky Fibre Install and Extension Questions.

After 4 calls last night and 3 today, I managed to speak to someone who's system was working. What a waste of time! She had no idea what I was talking about and kept trying to get me to order fibre so she could take the 50.
Her English was appalling and she couldn't even get the details on my account correct, saying I didn't have any Sky products at all.
I managed to speak to a supervisor, but only after asking repeatedly.
The supervisor wasn't much better and neither was his English, but at least he confirmed that the Sky Talk order was being processed correctly.

The emails that said there was an error are a result of the failed online order from the 17th, as this case is still open. I was told that if they close it, I will not automatically receive a call when my Sky Talk goes active.

Sky really need to get their act together, it's honestly shocking.

Re: Sky Fibre Install and Extension Questions.

Sorry about that, it isn't good. It is unusual to get this kind of response from Sky. They do have a small call centre in India to take some calls out of normal hours, including nights, weekends and bank holidays. The UK call centres are open during these periods, but not as heavily manned (or should that be personned?) as the other times.

You may wish to try again on Monday and see how things go.

Sometimes it works in your favour, my mum has had sky for ten years+ and sky still insist she doesn't have line rental with them. 10yrs+ free line rental is pretty good, she has told them once a quarter since it the start.

You may have the line rental with BT. This was possible until around two years ago.
