What Wirless Speeds to do you get with Sky Fibre?

After getting Sky Unlimited Fibre (up to 40mpbs) installed on Friday, I was just wondering what speeds everyone gets through WiFi compared to Wired.

On our setup the Sky Hub is synced at 40000 Kbps, we're getting 37-38 Mbps on Wired and 25-27 Mbps on Wireless

Just wondering if that's the sort of drop in speed everyone gets when using Wireless.

I'm getting 37 on both wired and wireless.

37/38 is the max you can I believe, even if the router syncs at 40Mb.

There will be some loss in speed as the computer and Laptop need to encrypt the data transmitted.

I've just run this on my own connection:

The same laptop gets around 60Mb/s over Ethernet. The speeds were roughly half this initially when I have 40/10.

      PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.

I'm synced at 40Mb and get a max of around 31Mb when using wireless. Get about 36Mb wired.

Re: What Wirless Speeds to do you get with Sky Fibre?

Depends on the device and it's Wireless capabilities.

On my 5Ghz enabled laptops I tend to max the Line if downstairs, sometimes slightly under if upstairs (Due to the power-line link between downstairs and upstairs)

But then again I tend to be in the same room as the access Point and that does make a huge difference.

Wireless AP's Tenda N60/N600 dual band routers - Router mode disabled, DHCP disabled Uplink in LAN port, 40mhz channel width 5Ghz, 20mhz channel width in 2.4ghz, 2x2:2 radios.

Downstairs AP is hard wired to Firewall/Router via CAT5e , Upstairs is on Solwise PL-1000M powerline adaptors, Aztech firmware (The solwise firmware is terrible)

Router is a UBNT Edge router Lite, Modem is the HG612, 80/20 sync.
