      New Firmware update for SR101

I've noticed that the firmware on my SR101 has updated this morning from 1.15j.2200.R to 1.15j.2639.R .
I was just wondering if anyone knew what the update fixed/added ? I can't see any new options in the router web pages.

      Thanks
      Alex

Re: New Firmware update for SR101

I have the release notes for this version. I asked Sky for permission to post the details last week when I noticed a couple of people posting about in on the Sky Help Forum, but I have not yet received permission to disclose the details. I have also asked for clarification about the status of this version, as there has been no announcement as yet from Sky about this version being available for public release. Sorry to be a bit opaque, but I am trying to be careful what I say and not to compromise my position by revealing information without permission.

Re: New Firmware update for SR101

This seems to be the cause of my Mac NETBIOS name no longer appearing in the router DHCP table. I know this is the cause because it worked fine up until this update was made, I received it a few days ago. Pain really but meh. No system changes have been made at all. All other NETBIOS names appear though, strange one.

Re: New Firmware update for SR101

Just read Speedyrite's post on the sky forum about a recovery tool, will run that and see if it rolls back to the previous firmware to test if the current firmware is what has prevented the router from reading my Mac's NETBIOS name.

Re: New Firmware update for SR101

From memory the tool takes you to an earlier version than 2202. Unfortunately your Sky Hub will automatically update back to version 2639 sometime in the next couple of days.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Re: New Firmware update for SR101

It's fine, I assume it would take me back to the 1.15j.2200.R version. I only need it to test if the update to 1.15j.2639.R is the cause of the NETBIOS "problem" (not a major issue as it doesn't effect usability).

Re: New Firmware update for SR101

I would expect it to go back to 2639, not 2202.

If it helps, your issue has been raised in the beta forum. When we have something which can be shared speedyrite or myself will let you know.

I've got some info ready to post here (and on "the other place") as soon as I get permission. I'll PM it to Scubbie so that she can post it if permission comes through and I'm not available.

Just checked my list of attached devices and these have always been (and are still) listed as UNKNOWN: 2 x Apple TV 2g, 1 x HP 6940 Printer, 1 x Devolo dLAN AV 200 Wireless Access Point. Also the SamKnows Whitebox (whichis a recent addition to the LAN). All other devices (including all the other Apple computers) are all correctly identified though (which is nice!)

Re: New Firmware update for SR101

See, my apple TV, three iphones (one 4 and two 5) and my dads ipad 4 have their names showing fine...just seems to be my MacBook Pro which has no changes applied to it. I'll just wait and see.
