If you received your number from Sky, then they can refuse to let you take it with you. If you took your number to Sky from BT or another provider, they will not be able to stop you taking it back.

I will let you know Speedy
they have told me its swapping over on the 24th, with no indication that its a number change, in fact they refer to my number in there correspondence so I am not anticipating any issue.

If you're leaving ADSL with Sky, I think that's not a problem. It seems to be leaving Fibre on Sky and keeping the number that can be a problem.

Speedy, you are dead right here!
As I already have fibre on the Sky LLU, they are unable to transfer either service. The only option was to have no broadband service for two weeks, while they initiated the transfer. Clearly this is not an option. Appears this is a general problem all round, not just between Sky & PN. They are working on solutions, but this has been going on for two months and is likely to be no time soon before the matter is resolved.
The upshot is, I am now stuck with Sky. However, PN are holding my order open and honour the six months discount, if in time the situation is corrected.
If Sky reduce there prices, I therefore have the option to stay with them, or defect to PN, if the problems resolve.

      John
