I went through Topcashback a few weeks back and got 50.50 back which covered the activation fee.

It works for existing customers and also, i've just noticed they are now giving 80.80 in cash back so its worth going through them if you haven't already

As an existing customer, I was very tempted to upgrade to Sky Fibre Unlimited via Topcashback until I read the recent comments (since about Sept 2012 - sort comments by date).

It seems that most people received little, if any, cash back and almost never the full amount quoted in the offer. This seems to be because Sky refuse to pay up.

New customers, however, do seem to get the cash back.

      Re: Fibre Broadband activation fee

Just wondering if anyone's been able to haggle with Sky to get the 50 activation feed waived? Fibre is now available here, and living only a few metres away from the cab I'd like to take advantage and go for it, the 50 is slightly off-putting, compared to some other deals

Yup, I got the fee waived, plus half-price Fibre for three months... even though I'm an existing customer upgrading from normal Sky Broadband Unlimited. Didn't do any forceful haggling or anything, just asked if there were any offers they could give me.

      Re: Fibre Broadband activation fee

Do look around. some of the money back sites do have some deals at the moment. One of these may have something suitable for you.

Have you compared what kind of a package you would get with another provider (i.e. PlusNet) too?

You could then call Sky, explain that you would love to stay with Sky and why, but that you are tempted to elsewhere as you can get a better price. Have the details to hand and be prepared to call their bluff.

      Re: Fibre Broadband activation fee

Scubbie, when i wanted to move to sky fibre, the best deal they could do for me was free installation, they couldnt match what i was being offered from PN.

I also see topcashback are now offering 70.70 if you take PN fibre unlimited with Phone line, also 6 months half price fibre bband!!!

      Re: Fibre Broadband activation fee

      No problem.

Perhaps someone from above will see the issues and get a new pricing structure put in place sooner rather than later.
