This only started last week but users are reporting they are seeing this already. It's rolling out in stages across the UK. No other tariff is effected by this speed cap. There's a thread about this on the digitalspy forums.

Interesting Can't test either way at the moment as only getting 1.5Mbit/s out of the local Cell at home

They sorted the tethering when roaming on Orange before the EE3G network switch-over. iPhone visual voicemail is now also live apparently. You have to send an SMS with the words' iPhone visual' to 150 to activate.

Thank you both. I guess it is a case of "play it by ear" and see how she gets on.

She has other options and it really depends on what works where she is at the time.

Since she is with Sky for Broadband as well, she can pop into various pubs and Cafés with The Cloud WiFi too.

Most TM tariffs include BT Openzone WiFi access as well so you get even more WiFi coverage.

I shall have to check that with her later.

I had enough fun helping her to log into The Cloud and tethering her Netbook the other day before the Snow came.

I had to enable something on my own phone (with Vodafone) to allow BT Openzone to work on it. I am hoping that it would be something simple with T-Mobile.

Try texting "Open" to 9526, seems to be the number I sent the activation message to, it should respond with a username (your t-mobile number) and a password to use on BT-Openzone hotspots

Doesn't appear to work with the BT-Fon ones however just the proper openzone ones, ironically most of the openzone hotspots I tend to visit are in places where the venue has made them free anyway.

      Thank you again.

I have sent her an email. I am sure I'll get a call later asking "What????" lol.

Tweeted to T-mobile to ask them if it's supposed to work on the Fon/BT-WiFi hotspots.
