Some questions before ordering Sky Fibre

I'm interested in getting Sky Fibre but have a few questions:

      1) Do you get the new Sky SR101 fibre hub for free? If yes, does this also include customers upgrading from Broadband Unlimited? Anyone tried?

      2) Are people still getting the Sagem V7 fibre router or have Sky stopped giving them out? Is the Sagem V7 free if you don't opt for the Sky SR101 hub?

      3) On the Openreach website, my exchange shows as "Accepting Orders" but the 2nd hop on tracert is an easynet address. Can I get Fibre? Sky website also shows I can with estimated speed of 40.0 Mbps.

      4) Will the upgrade from Broadband Unlimited be uninterrupted or will I have a few days loss of service during the switchover?

      Thanks.

Re: Some questions before ordering Sky Fibre

With the launch of the Sky Hub SR101, Sky are no longer shipping the Sagem 2504N to any new customers.

Since they insist on their customers using one of their routers, they will need to ship you a suitable router. The Sky Hub SR101 will be free, but they will normally charge for postage (2.18 I believe).

As the Sky website is giving you a predicted speed for Fibre, then you can order it for your home.

Normally the switchover will interrupt your Sky Broadband for a short interval. This will be whilst the BTO Engineer connects your line to the Fibre cabinet. Most have said that it takes under an hour to complete.

      PlusNet Fibre since Jan 2021
Previously Sky Fibre & Sky BB since 2010.

You said the Sky Hub SR101 will be free but I just checked online by adding the fibre broadband via My Sky and I am being charged 39 for the router with the option to remove it. So it's not free for me?

I am an existing Sky Broadband Unlimited customer.

I would call Sky and arrange an upgrade. I am in the process of moving from Unlimited to Fibre Unlimited and haven't been charged for a new Hub even though I am receiving one.

That is probably Sky's rather strange accounting syustem which does not allow anything to be given free. There will probably be a credit of 39 shown later in the order process. The only time I can see them not supplying a new Hub would be if you had already got one and were using it on ADSL.
