Potentially it leaves you vulnerable to 'attack'. If I was putting a server at work in the DMZ (which i have to do on occasion when setting up an secure gateway into our organisation) I would ensure it was properly a/v conneced and the like.

Agreed an xbox shouldn't pose too much of a target but there have been a lot of complacemnt apple users out their thinking their precious little devices were untouchable. One disgruntld Call of Duty fan and the whole of the Xbox world could be hacked lol

I don't know anything about the xbox, but over on the playstation forums dmz is an official recommendation for those with connectivity issues such as strict / moderate nat type.

My ps3 is in the dmz & from what i can tell, most of the old school gamers who've been at it for years do it as a matter of course.

Putting a server in the DMZ without a robust firewall would not just be daring, it would be madness.

I totally agree but how could you implement something like that on an Xbox. And given that at some stage you can invariably submit credit card details over the Xbox it wouldn't take much to hit it with some Trojan or the like that could report back the keystroke findings.

Gamers have been putting their consoles in the DMZ for years, I think if there was a security risk it woulld have surfaced before now.
