Re: Another 'Road to Fibre' thread

I recall the op (on adsl) in this thread: http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/sky-r...tml#post392626 was sent the update cd by sky & couldn't get 5.27 (fibre) going.

Not that i actually know anything about this sort of thing, but i thought 6.14.1a4N_UNI was intended to replace both 5.23 & 5.27 on all 2504n's, making them functional with both adsl & fibre connections.

I naturally assumed, when it became obvious v6.14 was a wrong'n, that because the sr101 was so close to being released, there was little (or at least less) point in sky looking for a 'proper' solution.

Hence the rather laid back response to customers asking to be rolled back to the previous firmware.

That's my uneducated take on the situation anyway

If they laid any further back, they would fall over. pmsl

Added Phonecall #4. My order still hasn't been placed, some sort of router order issue. Moving into three days in the attempt to update my broadband. What a pain so far.

Re: Another 'Road to Fibre' thread

Have just spent the last 30 minutes cabling the parents hours to give a power supply to the second router (wireless extension) and run an ethernet from one side of the room to the other, all looks spiffing and ready to go, roll on Tuesday morning, so excited to get 7x more speed than I am now!

Haha, my speed it pretty much as good as it ets for attenuation. I'm synced at 4.5mb and the max is 5mb. BTO say I can get 54mb on fibre, Sky quoted 40mb as that's the max. I'm confident I'll get the full 40mb.
