Sky SR101 - how do i calculate my password to use on third party router

I am currently on normal unlimited and due to have fibre installed on 15th nov.

They said they will be sending me out this new sky hub crap. Obviously i dont want to use that ****.

I currently got my setup working with pfsense firewall using MER authentication.

I done this however using the Sky Broadband Password Calculator - pH-Mb and was able to extract the details from the sagem router they sent out originally.

will my existing login details work ? or will i have to try and extract the password/details again because i dont see the SR101 on the list.

      you help is much appreciated.

      kind Regards.

You will have to use the Sagem details, there is no known way of getting the username and password from the Hub, at the moment.

The old Password may still work.

      If not try this

If they don't then you will need to break out the shark (or some other packet sniffing tool)

yes i am familiar with wireshark.

i remember seeing a guide, but it was only for sniff the mac, which is easy to get and just the case of reading from a sticker.

Re: Sky SR101 - how do i calculate my password to use on third party router

The guide assumes the SR101 discloses the password in the DHCP Discover like the sagem does, if it doesn't then you might need a switch that supports port mirroring placed between the FTTC modem and the SR101.

However if the SR101 does behave the same as the sagem it should be sufficient to simply connect the Port that's supposed to be connected to the FTTC modem to a PC that's been configured with it's DHCP client off (I.e static ip on windows, just don't run Dhclient on the interface if it's linux)

im going to wait untill the 15th and have a play about. from reading the other post. it seems that all that may be needed is to spoof the mac.
