      SR101 Running Hot

Just wondering if anyone else has this issue, my SR101 was installed yesterday by engineer, it arrived a week earlier.

The router and fibre works flawlessly, but after being active for about 3 hours the internet shuts down, and the hub is very very hot, all lights go off when this happens.

If I unplug it for an hour and then turn it back on, everything works fine again for another 2 or 3 hours. Any ideas?

Will Sky send me a new hub, or at least an engineer to fix it? What number do I contact them for this fault?

I have specifically tried to get mine to overheat and failed. During the summer my lounge gets VERY warm, as it did this summer, and still it failed to overheat.

Provided that you have stuck it under a surface or something, or with it sitting on some material such as a cloth, so that air cannot circulate through the vents, then I would strongly recommend a friendly call to Sky now.

Edit: Also please can you also check that the router is upright, not laying on it's side.

Router is upright on a metal TV unit, I always buy rubber block stands for all electricals to raise them a little for air flow, I have done same with router, it has ample air flow, is upright, and is not up against anything. I will call them and ask for replacement.
