      Fibre Installation

I'm all set up for Sky fibre installation in 2 weeks time moving from Sky broadband. Iíve read conflicting reports about installation. I understand it will be a BT Openreach engineer and he will install a face plate and a modem?Öbut Sky are sending me a modem. Iím sure there must only be one modem. Surely not 2 modems. Confused
      Thanks

      re: Fibre Installation

The BT Openreach engineer will install a fibre modem and replace your BT faceplate. You then need to connect the router that Sky provide to the fibre modem. It is the Sky router that makes the connection back to Sky using your Sky username and password; So yes two boxes; one modem and one wireless router.

I'm having fibre installed tomorrow - been waiting for a long three weeks !

      Thanks for that.
I may have misled you a bit. I'm getting Fibre To The Cabinet so I still have copper wires coming in the house. Does that still mean 2 modems

Which box did you get the new one?
