Thinking of upgarding to sky fibre optic (if i can get it),

Hi, As the title says i am thinking of upgrading to sky fibre optic, i have been on sky unlimited broadband for about 2 years and too be honest apart from a few teething problems at first when i finally had a brand new phone line fitted to my house it has been pretty good. Is sky fibre optic any good and do you think it will be worth me paying the extra cash per month just to have it. The speed i am getting at the moment is below, i realise it may not be totally accurate but which speed checkers are !!! Not sure what speed i would get using fibre optic..any ideas anyone also is there any offers on with sky regarding fibre optic broadband at the moment.....Thanks Colin

Had it since April, it rocks! Depends how near your street cabinet is, I'm approx 800m away from ours and am maxing out on the standard 40/10 product. I like it, as I tend to do a bit of downloading / streaming. If you do too, you'll notice a difference. If you don't, probably not worth it. Topcashback currently offer 45ish quid cashback for an upgrade, which kinda cancels out the connection fee.

Thanks Jayhab your answer is much appreciated, Bt actually fitted a new cabinet on the high street just at the bottom of my street about 6 months ago, rough guess less about 50m from my house (i am guessing the new cabinet had something to do with fibre optic). Cheers for the advice on Topcashback i will look into that offer...Cheers Colin

My wife has not called them yet as she does not want to loose the cashback from the offer, she sent sky an email explaining everything about the topcashback offer and asking them to ring us but i doubt that will work. As you said i think the only thing to do is cancel and try again but there is no guarantee that the next attempt will work...bit of a dilemma !!!

It's my understanding that the order has already failed if you've been sent the 'contact us' email. You can contact them and cancel then start again - no probs!
